The city of Petra, capital of the Nabataean Arabs, is one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world, it is Located 240 km south of the capital Amman and 120 km north of the red sea town of Aqaba (see the Map), Petra the world wonder is undoubtedly Jordan’s most valuable treasure and greatest tourist attraction.

Itinerary Starting

2h45 drive to Taba Marina, passport procedure. 1 H boat trip to Aqaba. Passports handed to Jordan customs at Aqaba , passports stay at Marina whole day. Drive to Petra 2h30. (10 min rest stop half way). 2 km walk

to Petra Site (800 m desert, 1,2 km through canyon). Horse (included) or chariot both ways possible (50 $). Guided visit of site: Treasury, Royal Tombs, Court, Roman Theatre, Roman Street, Pharaoh’s Daughter’s Palace and other monuments. Free time and independent walk back to Petra town. Complete time of visit 3h. Lunch (buffet in a Restaurant , drinks not included). Drive back to Aqaba, arrival ca 18h30. short shopping possibility (shops accept LE and USD, quality alcohol and cigarettes available at tax free rates). Departure from Aqaba Marina ca 20h 45, arrival in Taba ca 21h00, arrival at Sharm ca 00h45.
